About Me:

Hello, I’m Lawrence.

Three years ago, if you’d asked me to describe myself in three words or less, I would have said, "Chronic Pain sufferer." Now I would say "Poet, singer, survivor." That is the transformation writing, specifically, poetry has brought about in my life. And what caused this dramatic change? The crazy decision to enrol in a University over 250 miles from home.

I am now in my final year of BA Creative Writing at the University of Winchester, and over the course of my studies, I have gone from fearing pain to making characters out of my worst symptoms, putting their stories to paper and performing them to rooms full of strangers.

My recent performances include a headline slot at The Railway Inn’s Poetry Platform New Year’s Special, reading to first-year Creative Writing Students at The University of Winchester, and recording spoken word sets in collaboration with Splendid Fred Records, for their Lung Party Podcast and This Changes Everything multimedia exhibition. You can see some of my past performances here,

I also have several print publications in the pipeline. If you want to find out more about my upcoming performances and publications, be sure to check out my upcoming events.
